This course introduces the participants to the science and basic techniques of identifying the type and composition of fluid in hydrocarbon reservoirs and in general how that fluid will behave during production.

By the end of this course, delegates will gain skills and knowledge to:

• Characterise hydrocarbon reservoir fluids
• Conduct different PVT experiments
• Analyse laboratory PVT test data
• Characterise hydrocarbon phase behaviour
• Conduct fingerprint and forensic analysis of formation water
• Apply different equations of state (EoS) and phase equilibria
